I adopted Pumpkin in November 2013 from Animal Care Services in San Antonio, Texas. He was found wandering the streets and was brought to the shelter with marks around his neck from a collar that was too tight. I visited the shelter with my boyfriend and was immediately drawn to the tan chihuahua who was sitting quietly looking up at me while all the other dogs were barking and jumping around him. Because he was brought in only the day before and was unvaccinated, I had to go to the clean intake area to see him. As I held him in my arms, I could feel him shaking and see the fleas on his coat. Two days later, I was able to pick up Pumpkin from the shelter, newly vaccinated and neutered. Pumpkin now lives with me in New York and is a true "city dog." He is a happy, confident dog who loves going to the park, playing with his toys, and cuddling up on the couch with his humans!
