April 15th, 2013 I adopted one of the best dogs a girl can own. I'd been looking for a male malamute puppy to rescue. I was working with a rescue. She (Karen) called me one night and said I have a 6 year old female malamute. They are putting her to sleep tomorrow if no one takes her. I decided right then I wanted her. She had fleas, ticks, wounds, abused, neglected. She was 42 pounds, yellow fur, and heart worm positive. She didn't warm up to me for months. She was abused and beaten. She now weighs 85 pounds, has a beautiful coat and cuddles with me in bed every night. She is no longer aggressive. She is bright eyed and bushy tailed (literally) all the time.
