I was hanging out with a friend of mine one night and she mentioned that she was fostering a very sweet dog for the Illinois Bird Dog Rescue. Since I had been thinking about getting a dog, I asked her for more information about him. She told me he's a English Setter that had been found in Kentucky with a broken leg and the leg ended up needing to be amputated. She'd been fostering him for over 7 months, and though many people met him, no one was willing to adopt. I met Fred that night, fell in love, took him home with me and he's been by my side ever since. A lot of people think that three legged animals are 'damaged' or 'too much work'. Fred has been with me for over 6 years now and is the best dog a girl could ask for!
